Lee Roy Selmon's lifestyle is a combination of football scholarships, family involvement and involvement in the community. First family, he's the youngest of the nine children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie. The family lived on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Also, he was one of three siblings who represented Oklahoma on the field of football. The three brothers were all All-Americans. The year 1973 was the first time Lee Roy and Lucious Jr. Dewey were the starters for one year. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's best lineman. He was awarded two championships as well as 32-1-1 in his three seasons as Oklahoma's starter. The National Football Foundation named him as a Scholar-Athlete three times time in the year 1975. Selmon earned his degree in education. Fourth service In the university Lee Roy devoted ten hours each week on volunteer work. In Tampa where he played, he joined the Buccaneers for nine seasons, and eventually became an all-pro. He also began an entrepreneurial career. By 1988, he became an Account Relations officer for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He also worked with the following organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being one of the top 10 young men in the US. Lee Roy was 6'2" tall and weighed 265 pounds during his time playing college football. The year 1975 was the first time he led the group. In 1993, he was appointed the associate director of Athletics at University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter of the National Football Foundation in 1989 awarded their Distinguished American Award to his parents Mr. and Mrs.. Lucious Selmon Sr. Henry Bellmon is the Oklahoma governor, who presented this award.
