Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington (Greek American) is a Greek American writer, syndicated-columnist and businesswoman. She's co-founder and CEO of Thrive Global, as well as the author of fifteen books. Arianna Huffington is an independent liberal news outlet, is a television personality as well as a writer and charitable donor. She emigrated out of Greece to England when she was 16 years old, and obtained a MA in Economics from Cambridge University in Economics. The infamous debating society The Cambridge Union was her first presidency and she did it when she was 21. In the years following after her college graduation, she was a prominent Conservative syndicated journalist. A few more years later she created The Huffington Post which featured critiques of the current politics. Her celebrity status helped her to get a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions on news, politics, and other topics. Arianna was first noticed in 2003 as she stood in the California recall election replacing then Governor Davis. In addition, she was also the leader of an initiative in Detroit initiative that promoted fuel efficient automobiles. In 2009, she was ranked by Forbes as The most influential female media personality, taking the 12th position in the list and in the same year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 list of media. AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post in 2011 and appointed her as the president of their media company, which also included additional AOL properties such as Engadget AOL Music Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli was born to Konstantinos Stasinopoulos, and Elli the other, both of whom are management consultants and journalists. They were very close to her father, but it was the relationship she had with her mother which shaped her. Even during her formative years, she exhibited leadership skills for which are still prominently known. When she was in her 16th year she travelled to England for a degree and attended Girton College Cambridge. While in college she joined Cambridge Union, a college debate club. The third female president, and also the first foreigner she served as the head of the Cambridge Union. The year 1972 was the year her master's in Economics was awarded. In the years following her degree she worked as a journalist-critic and a host on TV. Additionally, she starred alongside Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started making books with his editorial assistance.
