Allison Chinchar, a CNN and HLN meteorologist at CNN and HLN. She is often featured in CNN's HLN Weekend Express and CNN International's HLN New Day Weekend. Prior to making the move to CNN, in June of 2015she worked for many local radio stations such as those in Atlanta as well as Nashville. She covered hurricanes and blizzards as well as flooding, wildfires, and won an Emmy for the coverage she gave of Dorian, a hurricane that struck the Bahamas. Dorian, which hit the Bahamas in 2019. The coverage she provided of the Super Tornado Outbreak of April 2011, during which more than 350 tornadoes occurred in the Southeastern United States over a duration of 4 days, with 200 tornadoes happening on April 27, was also nominated to win an Emmy. With her expertise in environmental science, she's also covered volcanoes, earthquakes and natural disasters, in addition to reports on climate change. Chinchar holds a bachelor's degree in Science from the Department of Atmospheric Science. She graduated from The Ohio State University. She's also a part of the American Meteorological Society and Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society.
